A New Do!

First, I just want to thank all of you lovely ladies for your input and encouragement on my quest for a new do. I don't think I would've had the courage to go for the bangs without you!

Yesterday was the day. I went to the salon and started off with a pedicure. I haven't had one since May and somehow I have completely lost my touch at doing my own toenails. They always look awful! So yes, I paid someone money to paint my nails. And it was so worth it! They are beautiful purple (which is apparently very in right now...I'm so cutting edge!) and I love them. I didn't want to post a pic though because I am anti feet photos on blogs. It's my policy :) Plus, my sister wouldn't read my blog again if I posted a picture of a foot.

And as an aside...the lady looked at me when we were done and said, "Have you ever had your eyebrows waxed?" I responded, generally stunned at her forwardness, saying, "No...do you think I should?" Since apparently she does the eyebrow waxing she said...yes...for more definition of course...and to help the shape of my face. I took this time to check out her pencil thin eyebrows and then politely decline. Um, I like my eyebrows lady. And I'd like them to continue to look like eyebrows and not like this:

Now onto my hair cut. We decided on more of the Nicole Ritchie look. I didn't get a before pic because my hair had been up all day so it was seriously creased. But here is a recent pic:

And now...

Please excuse the "I've been at work all day and my makeup has all come off" look. My hair now sits above my shoulders and I have some serious bangs going on. It's a little hard to see because of the color of my hair, but I have a bit of bangs on both sides....just way more on one side...which actually fits naturally with my part so it works. This look is with all of my hair totally straightened.

Now, as I've said, I have to wear it up for work. So here's what it looked like this morning:

I'm able to get all of it up and bobby pin back the bangs. They are all up in my eyes if I don't and that gets on my last nerve.

So, do I like it? I'm not sure yet. I think I do. I'm not used to having hair in my face and honestly it is driving me a little bananas....but now that I have figured out the magic of bobby pins, I'm okay. I'll do the bangs when I wear my hair down...which I intend to do more often on the weekends now that I don't have to straighten the craziness that was my before pic.

Which Hair Do I Dare??

Alright. I'm getting my hair cut. It's been forever. It's crazy long. I'm not one of those people who gets their hair cut every 6 weeks. I go months. Many, many, months. It is a requirement for my job to wear my hair up everyday (aka look like a scrub)....so there is no real reason for me to do anything to it during the week. Honestly, it is a rarity even on the weekends if I do anything to it. I straighten it if we have plans...but other than that, it's pony tail city. I need a change people!

So here are some ideas I am considering:

As you can see, I am leaning towards a short-ish bob...maybe with some sweeping bangs. I haven't had bangs since I would say...hm...I was 5...so this is admittedly freaking me out a little. It took me years to grow them out and it was NOT fun. But, I'm thinking with the sweeping ones, they would still be fairly long so it wouldn't be as drastic.

So help! Do any of you have this hair cut? Likes or dislikes? Bangs or no bangs? Eek! I think I just need to take the plunge! And maybe throw in a pedicure while I'm there :)
