Here the Call of the Kingdom...

Morning ladies!!

Biggest Loser Fridays is back! And I'm back with a bang...

-3.5 lbs. this week!!

Sweet!

Week 10: Total weight loss 11.5 lbs.

I could not be happier with my progress. I'm down a size in jeans already and I'm feeling great! My goal from the beginning was to lose 15 lbs. in our 12 week program...so I'm still on track to hit that if I have a great last two weeks.

Just as a side note...there is a guy at my work that has lost 43 lbs! Isn't that insane? In 10 weeks no less.

Boys.

Anyways, Hubs is out of town yet again on business so I am on my own until tomorrow evening. (Lean Pockets two days in a row!!) But during the day I will be keeping myself busy with my provisional project for the Junior League. We're heading over to a home day care center and fixing up one of the rooms for the kids. We bought a new rug, a changing table, books, games, toys..you name it...we bought it! I can't wait for everything we've worked so hard on all year to finally come together! And honestly, I can't wait for a break!

Sunday Keith and Kristyn Getty are performing their very last concert of the season at our church for Palm Sunday and I am so excited! If you haven't heard their music you simply must check it out. They are phenomenal.

And don't worry. The house hunt continues! Y'all will be the first to know when I hear something myself. Question: why do houses have to be so expensive? Huh? Can't I just give you, say, $1000 and we call it even? No?

My Sweetie is Home! and...BLF!

Another week...

source

What are the results this week you ask? The week I was left to my own devices whilst my husband was out of town? The week I didn't have to cook for anyone (and therefore ate leftovers three days in a row)? The week I went out for Mexican the day before I weighed in?

Down 2.5 lbs!

I could not be more thrilled! When I'm alone, I usually end up getting pizza and eating it all in one day...going to the store to pick up cookies and Doritos...and eating chocolate chips right out of the bag. But this week, none of that! I actually stuck to my diet the whole time and I am just bursting with excitement this morning!

Total weight loss: 9 lbs. Sweet!

We don't have any real plans this weekend...probably more house hunting activities. But I am just so glad to have my husband home. 3 sleeps is too long to be apart, right? Ha!

But in all seriousness, although I've enjoyed having 100% control over the T.V. and not rushing home to fix dinner...I missed the heck out of him. So I intend to use this weekend to snuggle as long as he'll let me :)

Love!

Welcome to another edition of....

Biggest Loser Fridays!!

The moment of truth...

I lost..

1.5 lbs! Yeah!

Total weight loss = 6.5 lbs!

Confession: I took my belt off before I weighed in.

However, there is no way my belt weighed 1.5 lbs. so I say I'm still legit.

I must admit, I'm feeling very excited this week. I am starting to see a difference in my jeans and it is giving me such motivation to keep going (not to mention the three holes I have patched in them...I am NOT buying another pair of jeans in this size!)

I was a little concerned this morning because I skipped spinning last night. I did walk 3 miles on the treadmill...but after that...my legs were like jello! I didn't think I could handle spinning...plus I was starving. So I slacked off and went home. But I have been to the gym every day this week which hasn't happened in so long. I am looking forward to my evening off tonight and catching up on the DVR.

We have a fun filled weekend of more house hunting, grocery shopping, and packing for Matt's trip next week. I'm also going to be starting a baptism class at church this Sunday. I have been anxiously awaiting a chance to do this and now the timing is so right.

Hope everyone has just a fabulous weekend!

Biggest Loser Fridays

BL Fridays is back!

This week's verdict..

Down 1 lb! Pretty good considering I downed a piece of cheesecake and three candy bars when Lucy Lu was here. (When do you think I will have a week where I don't have to tell you I ate like crap?)

That brings my total weight loss to 5 lbs.

I'd like it to be a little higher but I'm fairly close to my goal for the month. Yes. I have monthly goals for myself through July when I will FINALLY be at my goal weight!! Eek. Hope I can stick it out that long :)

We don't have any plans this weekend and next week seems pretty clear schedule wise as well...so I am looking forward to a monster week on the scale in my near future.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! And tell me, how is your weight loss coming?

This week...

Up 1 lbs. Sad face.

But do you remember the kind of week I had which included cupcakes and crab butter soup? I think that explains it. Frankly I'm excited it's only a pound! Ha! And it was completely worth it. I'll just work extra hard next week to make up for my little oops.

Last night I decided to try and squeeze in my "last chance workout" with a little spinning. I had been to one class before...but it was only 30 minutes and there was a substitute instructor that didn't know a thing about spinning. So this was essentially my first time.

Can I just tell you that it was awesome!?! And I'm in total shock that I thought so? I remember thinking during class, "I can't believe I am actually liking this!" It was a fantastic workout. The kind of workout where you're dripping sweat and you really feel like you did something positive.

There were actually two of us there that were newbies so the instructor was able to give us separate beginner instructions. But you know what? I did about 95% of the advanced moves! She even said I was athletic!?! I haven't heard that in so long. It felt great!

So next week will hopefully include more spinning classes and less eating crap.

Except on Sunday when I am having Cheesecake Factory for dessert.

But that's just one day, right?

And Red Velvet Cheesecake doesn't count, right?

BLF and Bloggy Road Trip!

Here it is! Another edition of BL Fridays!!

After a slight mishap last week, I rebounded this week and lost 3 pounds! Yeah!! That brings my grand total to 5 pounds in 4 weeks! I'll take it!

The week went pretty smoothly after our Super Bowl bash on Sunday where I consumed my weight in cheese. I decided to cut back a little on my points to make up for my indulgence on Sunday and it looks like that helped. I also hit the gym, did a few rounds of Taebo at home, and even dusted off my Wii Fit last night! Has anyone gotten the Wii Fit Plus yet?? What do you think? Worth the upgrade?

Today I am heading to Chicago! BUT, I am not going there to visit my sister (although I will get to see her face today!!). I am going to visit some other lovely ladies! Can you guess who?

No.

Well then I'll tell you!

I am going to be spending Saturday with Shaina, Jenn, and Lisa!! Our to do list includes such things as brunching, shopping, cupcaking, and dinnering. So pretty much shopping and eating. I could not imagine a better weekend! Well, maybe if this girl would be there. Next time for sure!

And I will be home Sunday afternoon to spend Valentine's Day with my forever Valentine!

Hope everyone has just the very best Valentine's Day weekend!! Can't wait to hear about your plans!

Biggest Loser Fridays and a Bloggy Birthday!!!

Welcome to the 3rd week of BL Fridays!

source

Well ladies. This week was disappointing. I gained 1.5 lbs. Insert sad face here. Bringing my total weight loss to date to 2.0 lbs.

BUT, it was totally expected. We went out to eat last weekend to Chick-fil-a, Abuelos, and Panini's and I did not make good food choices. Unless you consider pizza, a huge burrito, and a million tortilla chips a good choice. Which honestly at the time, I did. Ha!

I actually expected much worse so in a way I'm kind of excited the damage was only minimal. I don't know about anyone else, but when I screw up an entire week...I can gain a LOT of weight. So 1.5...coolio.

But I really want to work hard this week to take that weight back off. I have an upcoming trip next weekend with some lovely ladies and I'd like to eat my face off one day and not feel so bad about it :)

On another note...I just read Brittany's post yesterday about her Bloggy Birthday and it reminded me that I actually started blogging in February of last year as well. I looked it up and in fact my very fist post was a year ago...TOMORROW!

I can't believe my little blog is turning 1! It was not that long ago that I didn't even know what blogging was...and then when I found out what it was I thought it was stupid :) Why would anyone want to read my thoughts, my dreams, my disappointments? And why would I want to read anyone else's? Well, turns out I was completely and utterly wrong. I LOVE reading all of your blogs and I have "met" some of the very best people I have ever "known" through blogging. I thank you SO much for your friendships and your comments....your e-mails and encouragement. All of you mean SO much to me and I could not be more thankful that I started this blog.

So stick around! This year's going to be great! I can feel it!

Biggest Loser Fridays

Welcome to the second week of Biggest Loser Fridays!

source

This week was AMAZING! I lost 3 pounds!! That brings my grand total to -3.5 lbs.

And you know what? I worked for it. I've been at the gym 4 times this week sweating my booty off in classes and on the elliptical (jamming to Glee I might add). I've also been following WW to the letter. I'm in the zone people. I can feel it. This is finally my time.

Tips from this week:
  • I learned from previous WW meetings that it is a good idea to track your fiber and protein and make sure you are eating enough each day. This has helped me in the past so I try to eat at least 30 grams of fiber and 50 grams of protein a day.
  • I also make sure to get at least 5 servings of fruits/veggies, 2 servings of dairy, and 64 oz. of water each day.
Topics for discussion:
  • Flex and activity points. What to do with those litter boogers? The last time I was in WW I freaked about eating more than my regular daily points and just flat out didn't. You know what happened? Week 1 : maintain. Week 2: gain! Oh I was livid. But you know what my leader told me? I wasn't eating enough. So I slowly started eating a little bit more on days I worked out. My current plan is adding 3 points to days where I feel like I got a really great workout in at the gym. So far, so good
  • This does change, however, if I have a splurge day. Say I go out to dinner and eat everything on the table but my napkin? No more extra points on those workout days for me that week. I figure I've clearly used up all of those extra points in one meal!
How do you ladies use those extra points? I know many people who eat all of their flex points and all of their activity points every week and still lose weight...so I'm just curious what works for you!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Biggest Loser Fridays

I thought since my co-workers and I just started a Biggest Loser competition...and we weigh in on Fridays....I would take this opportunity to check in and tell you about my weight loss and work outs! Oh, and food. Always food. I'm calling it...Biggest Loser Fridays. Genius, I know.

Since I was out of town on Monday (our initial weigh in day) I had to weigh in on Tuesday this week. That only left me with three days of "dieting" before the weigh in today. Eek! Tuesday and Wednesday I hit the gym hard with new classes. I tried out Boot Camp and Cardio Circuit, both of which kicked my booty in a major way. I also did my old standbys of Yoga and Pilates as well as some lifting and cardio on my own. I cannot express to you how sore my little abs are. Well, they're not so little...so I guess it's a good thing they're sore!

I also did great on my food intake. I'm back on "poor girl Weight Watchers" AKA: doing it on my own. I stuck strictly to my points both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thursday I had a dinner date with a friend at Bonefish Grill. I had never been there before so I checked out their menu online. I couldn't find any solid nutrition facts so I just used common sense. I went into the meal with 8 points left and ordered grilled tilapia with no sauce and some veggies for my side. That's it! And drank water! So I think I did just fine.

At the weigh in I lost 0.5 lbs. It was quite a bit lower than I hoped for but I'm trying my best not to get discouraged. I did only have 3 days so I can't wait to see what I can do with 7! And the people at the site are doing fantastic! One guy lost 9 lbs! So far this morning we have lost about 40 lbs. total and only half of the people participating have weighed in. I'm really excited about the program and the success it is having thus far. Hopefully next week will bring more of the same (except a little more of a loss for me please!).

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We have NO plans so I am completely stoked!

The Biggest Loser: Lucky in Love Style!

Late last year, a few of my co-workers and I were standing around chatting about, what else, reality TV. The subject of The Biggest Loser came up and I offhandedly said, "We should totally do that here!" Well the other women were all for it!

So after a few months of planning and getting the final approval from management, my work is officially starting a Biggest Loser program on Monday! I am crazy excited about this seeing as even with the new year...my motivation has been low and my attitude blah. I wake up energized and ready to be the best I can be...but by the time I leave work...I just want to sit. I feel like something is wrong with me. But I'm a pretty competitive person so I'm hoping this program will be the kick in the booty I need!

What are you ladies doing to work out and stay healthy in the new year? I think I need a new routine. I got burned out doing the same things everyday last year and I started to hate going to the gym. I'm thinking about starting a few new classes next week and hopefully that will help. Any suggestions??

The Biggest Loser--Family Edition!

So the sister and I decided last week we were going to start our own Biggest Loser competition within our two families: Jenny and Matt vs. Jessi and Dave!

I am at a huge disadvantage, seeing as my partner looks like this...

AKA: The skinniest man on the planet. Now, Matthew, before you go all "this is an old picture" on me, I will include a newer one later on in the post to prove my point.

Meet our competition: The Newlyweds

I think we can take them, honey! Now put down your sweet tea and let's go take a walk! *Insert Matt's annoyed face here*

I mentioned this competition to my brother, who also wanted in on the action. I SO wish I had an old picture of him so you could get the whole "this is what college can do you to" effect, but nonetheless, here's my bro with the other men in my life.

Mook, Dad, Matt, & Dave

Okay, this guy could be tough to beat.

Except he went home to my parent's house over the weekend and his first week's weigh in put him UP 2.7%! Ha!

With our combined weight loss % being 0.58%, that puts us definitely ahead of Mook. We are currently awaiting results from the newlyweds.

I'm so proud of my husband for losing 0.5 lbs. this week! What a great job! AND...he had steak, mashed potatoes, Pepsi, and a hot fudge sundae all the day before weigh in. Can I get a "great job" and "I hate you" all at the same time!?!

I will definitely keep you up to date on our progress! Sis and I haven't quite worked out all of the details of the competition (such as how to win, what we will get if we win, challenges, etc.) but updates will definitely follow! We just thought it would be a really fun way to keep up with our weight loss and really motivate each other.

Good luck family!
