I Have a House...and a Huge Belly!

I spent Wednesday evening with several girlfriends at Melt in Lakewood.  Melt specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches...but has seriously crazy varieties.  It is always super busy so I've only ever eaten there once before....and this time was just as yummy.

I decided on The Godfather.   Here's the description:
3 cheese lasagna, fresh fennel-oregano pasta sheets, spicy red sauce, provolone, garlic spiked bread

Dude.

It was insanely good.

Yesterday, Matt and I were invited to walk through our new house for a pre-drywall inspection.  Oh ladies, I could not be happier with how everything is coming along.  It almost makes me want to cry looking at how everything we chose is coming together so beautifully and perfect.  I snapped a picture of the outside which is almost completely done.  I'm in love...and those trees....they're staying :)

Now, onto the babies!

How Far Along:  18 weeks! Apparently my baby is moving like crazy; however, I cannot feel it yet!  Honestly, it's driving me nuts.  I went in for a checkup last week and the doctor listened to the heartbeat and said she could hear the baby moving a lot.  It's completely surreal to not be able to feel it yet.  I just can't wait!!

Maternity Clothes:  Oh yeah.  I still wear mostly normal shirts...but the baby is even poking out of t-shirts now.  I'm thinking the days of wearing my normal clothes are almost behind me.

Sleep:  Mostly not bad...but last night I could not fall asleep to save my life.  But overall...no complaints.

Food:   I've really stepped up my eating healthy routine this week. I stocked up on strawberries, grapes, and pineapple and have been eating chicken wraps for lunch.  The only bad part of my day is when I get home from work.  I have no control and keep making myself nachos.  I cannot stop!

Best Moment of the Week:  Getting to hear my little one's heartbeat again.  150 and going strong!  We also chose where we are going to deliver our sweet baby...and having started investigating child birth classes.

What I'm Looking Forward to:   In one week we have the ultrasound to find out what we're having!  I just can't wait to see our little baby again and see how much he or she has grown!  I'm hoping everything looks just perfect :)  Also, I'm attending my first pre-natal yoga class on Monday with a friend of Matt's who is due one day before me!  Can't wait!

Besides Being Pregnant....

What's up with me??

  • We drove by our home site on Sunday with some friends and we officially have a hole people!!  We have been patiently waiting 3 weeks for them to start and it's finally here!!  Oh I simply cannot wait to live there!  It's the most beautiful hole I have ever seen.
  • Our landlords put a for sale sign in front of our house on Friday.  So, does this mean I have to clean?  And once I clean, must I keep it clean?  I say unclear.
  • My entire family is in Florida this week.  I am not ashamed to admit I am more than a little jealous.  This whole saving money thing is for the birds.
  • My Grandpa's birthday is today...and my Dad's birthday is tomorrow.  Want to know something cool?  We are all three 30 years apart.  87, 57, and 27.  Pretty neat, huh?  And a really good way to remember how old they are :)  I have NO idea how old my mom is.  53?  Seriously, no idea.
Hm.  Honestly, that's all I've got.  Pregnancy sure has taken over my life, huh?  :)

Hope everyone's having a fabulous week!!

Home Sweet Home

Ask and ye shall receive!

Matt and I had an appointment at the model home last night so I snapped a few pictures so you could see our new house! The floor plan will be exactly like the model home but I'll try to give you an indication some of the changes we made in the pictures.

First off, just in case you thought I was lying about actually buying a house...

...that little red circle that says "Sold" on #12...that's us! Sorry the picture sucks. I was trying to be quick so no one would catch me taking a lame picture of a sign.

This is our front door and the foyer taken from upstairs. On the right will be our living room and on the left will be our study.

Here's the living room. We opted to leave out the bay window but everything else will be the same.

And this is the study. French doors will stay as well as the hardwood which will run from the foyer, into the study, and up through the kitchen and morning room.

Here's the dining room with is connected to the living room. So sorry for the poor quality of this picture. Time of day= fail. Again, we opted against the bay windows and the windows on the left will not be there. Instead I will be able to center my currently non existent china cabinet on this wall...and not leave it how they have it completely unsymmetrical on the other wall which we know would drive me insane!

Let's travel upstairs, shall we??

Coming up the stairs, you first get to our master bedroom, or the Owner's Suite as they like to call it. Clever Ryan homes. Clever.

That is just one of two walk in closets we will have. Sweet!

Master bathroom...everything will stay exactly like you see it here.

There is also a sitting room off to the side which I see as a major possibility for a midnight feeding area for our future children. Oh, and there's the door to the other walk in closet.

There are three other bedrooms on the second floor but I opted to skip the pictures of those. You know, because they just look like bedrooms.

Here's the upstairs guest bathroom. There is also a powder room downstairs with the pedestal sink I mentioned. Forgot that picture....

Heading back downstairs....

This is the great room. In the model it is bumped out a few extra feet in the back which we opted not to do. But it's still quite a nice size for us. And isn't the fireplace gorgeous!?!

And now...the moment you've all been waiting for. Well, if I were you...it would be.

The kitchen. My sanctuary.

Oh yes. The main reason I loved this house so much. Island. Double oven. Bar. Beautiful cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances. Be still my heart.

The morning room is off to the right of this picture...but there were people in there and I didn't want to be that crazy girl who was taking pictures of strangers. So you'll have to use your imagination there :)

After we were done with our appointment...we walked down to our home site to check it out.

Sold baby!

BIG NEWS!

Big, big news in our household.

As of last night...

Matt and I...

Officially...

Own our own home!!

We signed the contract yesterday and our house will begin construction next month. And by mid-September we will be moving into our very first home.

Since it's being built, I don't have any pictures quite yet. But I intend on heading over to the model this week to steal some much need photos! Can't wait to show you!

So what am I most excited about?? Hands down...the kitchen. It has granite, a gourmet island, and a DOUBLE OVEN!! Can you even comprehend what I can do with a double oven?? Like, bake two things at once people. For a cake decorator this is going to be such a time saver!

Oh, and my OWN walk in closet! No more sharing with a boy!

And a powder room with one of those gorgeous pedestal sink!?! I love those :)

And a super cool fireplace with brick going up to the ceiling!

And a dining room big enough to fit a dining room table! Guess I should get a dining room table now, huh?

The stress of buying this home was more than I expected. But I am comfortable with our decision (although I almost fainted when I wrote the check last night....) and am moving into the stage where I am just completely excited about how our home will look when it's complete. I can't wait!

Within the next few weeks we are going to be making tons of decisions about colors, cabinets, hardwood, everything. I'm going to need so much advice! So put on your decorating caps ladies. The fun is just about to begin!
