House Pictures!

I have downstairs house pictures for you!!  Aren't you impressed!?!  No.  Okay.  I get it.  But let's just go with it okay?  :)

First up, our family room.

The fireplace is definitely my favorite part.  I'm pretty much in love with the stone we picked out.  And fyi...someday that awful couch will be gone.  It's on our list of must buys!  Yippee!!  You should see me try to get up off that thing now.  It's a sight...

The family room completely opens up to the kitchen and morning room.  The morning room is an addition we put on and will eventually be getting more furniture/a four person breakfast table to put in there.  Currently it is looking small and lonely...but it has such potential!

Finally, the kitchen.  It is by far the main reason I loved this house so much when we saw the design.  I LOVE it here.

We opted for black granite countertops and the dark cherry cabinets.  They looks just perfect together.  And my double oven.  Don't even get me started on how excited that makes me :)  And my gourmet island...swoon!

I will say, everyone that has been over has commented on how high the microwave is.  Funny, I never noticed.  Perhaps because I'm 5'11''??  Good thing I guess!

Hope y'all have a wonderful Thursday!!!

28 Weeks...and House Pictures (FINALLY!)

28 weeks.  28 weeks.  I made it to the third trimester!  I can't believe this is already 2/3's over.  In just a few short months we are going to be able to actually meet our little girl!  She's real you know.  I felt her kick :)

My glucose screening test is on Tuesday (can't wait...) and I also have to get an Rh shot because apparently I am in the 20% of women who are Rh negative.  Great odds, huh?  But I took the day off, so score one for Jenny on that one!

I have made some serious headway unpacking this week as my parents are visiting next weekend.  But did you know that when you're pregnant, you can't really do as much physical labor as you were able to do before?  I know, right?  Who knew?  I get winded pretty quickly and bending over to unpack a box has my abs feeling like I've been doing several hours of Pilates.  So with frequent breaks I have been able to knock out all of the upstairs and most of the office.  Yippee!

We're going to finish registering for the major tickets items this weekend as my sis is sending out the shower invites soon!  I cannot wait to have this registry done!  Then, you know, I can start receiving gifts :)  Ha!

So without further ado, here is my 28 week belly shot:

Girl is large and in charge.  How much bigger can I really get in 12 weeks?  Yikes.  Guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Now, some of you have been requesting house pictures!  I've been trying to hold you off until I got unpacked, but I figured you might want to see them before my little girl turns one so you'll have to excuse the boxes :)  Just pretend they're not there, okay?  And that we have furniture.

Up first, the dining room.  It is currently holding all of those items that were in the basement of our hold house that I know we don't need.  So I'm making Matt look through everything with me and for the love all that is holy please give some stuff away.  Until then, it will sit here.  Or until we buy a table.

This is looking into the living room from the dining room.  It is filled with a mixture of furniture that was in our old basement.  Low on the priority list to replace...so it will probably look like this for a few years.  But eventually it will be beautiful...

Also downstairs is the study.  It has really cool french doors which I wanted you to see.

I'm still in unpacking mode in this room and we have to build the desk/bookcase...but you get the idea.

That's all for now!  Still up, kitchen...family room...and all of the upstairs!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!

Home.

WE'VE MOVED!

  • We're officially in the new house!  The move came with our share of problems but let's just gloss over those, shall we?  We're in.  We've "returned" the old house and are officially in our very own home.
  • My in laws completely rock my world.  They stayed an extra day to help out and our house is actually starting to come together.  Matt and I ate breakfast Monday morning and lamented about how long it was going to take us to get organized.  Well, when I came home from work there was so much done.  All of the boxes were in their appropriate rooms and the kitchen was nearly complete.  Furniture was even assembled.  Those fabulous people did in one day what would've taken us weeks to do.  Simply amazing.
  • I now have room to park in the garage and no longer have to back out of the longest driveway in the history of the world where I have already gone into the mud where our grass will eventually be more than once.
  • I've cooked in my new kitchen and I heart my appliances.  They're so pretty :)
  • We haven't turned on the heat yet and I am FREEZING.  The last two nights I have slept in my robe because I didn't want any part of my skin to touch the sheets.
  • Our Internet and Dish are both working!!
  •  I agreed to make cookies for a baby shower this weekend.  I am an idiot.  Like I have time for that now??  But on a brighter note...I have found the cookie cutter!
I'll share pictures super soon but I wanted to say a quick thanks for all thoughts and support this weekend!  Baby R made it through her first move with flying colors :)  Now...she's anxious to get started on her very own room!

September = Month of Many

Can you even begin to believe it is already September?  August flew by in a flash!  But I am so excited for this month...as we have a million wonderful things going on!

  • Ah Labor Day Weekend.  Oh how I relish in your Mondays off.  Matt's parents are coming up on Friday and we are so excited to see them!  The last time they were here I wasn't even showing yet...so they're in for a big surprise :)  We're going to spend some time packing up the house and hopefully more time enjoying each others company.
  • I have no idea what this is about....but Matt volunteered us to go with his boss on some sort of train ride the following weekend?  Again, no idea.  But perhaps it will be fun?  I am a little disheartened about not being able to enjoy the "cocktail hour" but I digress.
  • Two Junior League meetings.  This isn't the most fun, but I think my group this year will actually be doing some really neat activities, so I'm trying my best to be open minded this go round.
  • Our 3rd anniversary!  We won't be taking a trip this year as we are in saving mode for our little one and the little thing of buying a house...but I'm sure whatever we plan will be special and lovely.  I just can't believe we've already been married 3 years.  What a magical time it has been!
  • Another ultrasound with our sweet little one...
  • AND...we're MOVING!
We officially get the keys to our very own house on the 29th!  I could not be more thrilled to finally have a home to call our own.  And to start getting to work on our baby's room!

I'm Alive!

Hey y'all!

I accidentally stayed away a little longer than promised.  Apologies!

So many of you have asked me about the 3-day and I am so grateful for your continued interest and support.  It was nothing short of amazing and I cannot wait to recap it for you.

Highlights:
  • lots of laughs
  • some intense mosquito bites
  • the worst pain my feet have ever felt
  • blisters spawning more blisters
  • an amazing peanut butter, jelly, and graham cracker concoction
  • inspiration to last a lifetime
And to top off the trip, I got to visit with a long lost college friend on Thursday AND take the baby's first picture at the bean.  I mean, this child has already been to the bean AND Solider Field.  Talk about spoiled....

I'll try to prep all the pictures for a recap next week.  But up tomorrow....

I'm 17 weeks!  My third appointment is tomorrow....and then in only two short weeks we will find out if we're having a little girl or a little boy!

Oh....and our house....it has a roof.  An actual roof people.  It's absolutely beautiful and so far the most gorgeous house on the block.  You know.  Out of the three that have been started.  And I'm not biased at all.

I'm a Jumbled Mess!

Morning friends!

Sorry I've been sporadic lately.  I feel like I have a million things running around in my head all at the same time and I can hardly keep up!

Here's a few things that are going on:

  • I've been working on another cake this week!  It involves chocolate, fondant, and perhaps a casino theme.  I'll be done tonight so stay tuned!

  • I'm in serious planning mode for our Texas trip in June.  I have done so much research on restaurants, hotels, and things to do...I think I could get around Texas myself without even having been there.  I simply cannot wait!

  • The 3-Day fundraising has taken over my life!  It is a lot more work than I expected...but it certainly is paying off.  I'm over half way to my goal already!  Check it out here if you're interested.

So as you can tell, I've been busy!  Between all of that, training, and work...I'm pooped!

But we have a full weekend ahead of us!  Tonight we have suite (and sweet!) tickets to the Indians game with a bunch of our friends.  I could not be more excited because the Indians are playing my very favorite team!!

You better believe I'm wearing my Sox jersey too.  Hopefully they win or I sure will look stupid :)

Then Saturday we have a birthday party to go to for a 1 year old.  It should be super fun.  I was a little concerned about the gift seeing as it was the first give I have ever had to buy for a child.  Ever.  Here's what I came up with:

Hopefully he likes them!!  They got good reviews....so that's what I went with :)

We are also meeting with our builder on Sunday to discuss a few more details about the house.  Everything is coming together!!  Our hardwood floor, granite, ceramic tile, and carpet are all picked out.  Next...brick!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!!

XOXO

Preparations!

After three tiresome days of working on our new guest bed, it is finally complete! And why, you ask, did it take us three days to put together a bed when the frame itself was delivered and set up for us? Well, I'll tell you. Because my husband had to build this:

The mattress we bought is one of those memory foam mattresses. You have to lay it on a flat surface and not a box spring so there is no give. Well, the flat boxes they sold online were like $400! Um, for a box? No. So Matt decided to build us one! It was his first really big project and I think he did a wonderful job.

Here he is attaching the tops:

We finished the night by putting the mattress on and dressing up the rest of our beautiful bed! Check it out:

Obviously the room itself needs some work...but you should've seen it before. Picture an empty room because the night stand and the chest are also new. Big improvement people! And the bed is so comfy!

And to make my parents' experience just that much more fabulous...I finally did what I have wanted to do for all of my guests! Yes, you guessed it. I made towel animals!

Duck

It's hard to tell because of the black towel, but this is a cobra.

Elephant

Stingray!

Matt was a huge help with these animals...seeing as I had only figured out the cobra before he got home and had been at it for quite some time. My cow and gorilla were big FAILS. Thanks sweetie!
