The Calm Before the Storm

  • I survived 10 miles on Saturday.  It was tough.  How I'm ever going to make 20...I will never know.
  • You see a lot of interesting things on the road when you walk that far.  Dead animals = gross.  I even saw a cat!!  It was awful...
  • The birthday party we attended on Saturday was just wonderful!  Tons of friends, yummy, yummy food, and cute babies = success.
  • Sunday was spent relaxing and making yummy Oatmeal Scotchies...my husband's request.  He seriously loves those things.  They were delicious!  And they are now safely at work with Matt where I can't get my grubby little hands on them.
  • I wanted a cupcake so bad yesterday.  Like I thought I would die if I didn't have one.  I drove all the way to the cupcake shop and then remembered they are closed on Mondays.  It was the worst part of the my day....by far.
  • I'm almost halfway done with I Know This Much is True, by Wally Lamb and I still can't figure out if I like it or not.  Has anyone read it?  What did you think??
  • Dude, that book is long.  900 pages is no joke.
  • My sister's coming this weekend...and I could not be more excited!!
  • In three weeks I will be in Florida with my BFF!  Then it's Memorial Day and we're going back home.  Then it's our trip to Texas!  Can't wait!!
  • But until then, my life is boring.  So you're going to have to deal with the bullets :)  Love!

You WILL make it to 20 miles, I know you can. Just step it up slowly and take your time--you can do it!!

Also, cupcake store closed on Monday? That's a crime I say!

1. Keep up with your training and you'll be able to do 20 miles in one day, no problem! Although I'm going to promise it won't hurt. Bad

2. I am sad you didn't get your cupcake. This reminds me of being at my sister's this weekend - when E and Dave were working at their new house and were supposed to bring drinks from the cooler there home with them to have with our supper. I was thinking of sparkling lemonade ALL day. Then they forgot to bring them home! Sadness.

3. I did not know you were going to Fl? Please fill me in!

You're doing great on your training! You can do 20 miles! Slow and steady is the way to go. Rest as often as you need to and be sure to stay hydrated!

I read I Know This Much is True a few years ago so I've forgotten a lot about it. It was weird. I remember reading it and thinking, "woah, this is such a weird book." It doesn't stand out as one I would recommend. Let me know what you think when you finish it.

10 miles is a LONG walk - you are doing great! and the only wally lamb book i've ever read is "she's come undone." my mom was reading it when i was young - like 13. and so i decided i was going to read it too when she wasn't looking (no idea why i thought i had to sneak it) and i remember being horrified by it!
