The date: Monday, July 27th, 2009
The time: 7:30 p.m. A usual return from work time for my husband.
The scene: I'm in the kitchen making dinner. Matt heads out to the patio to check up on his garden and water the plants.
Matt: "Hey! Something is growing from the cantaloupe plant! It's long and skinny though. Is it supposed to be like that?"
Me: "I want to see!"
I walk outside on the patio and see this:
Me: "That looks like a huge pickle!"
Upon further investigation, aka Google Images, we discovered that we most likely have a cucumber plant growing in our garden...not cantaloupe. Um, what? We don't even like cucumber.
Maybe this is God's way of telling us that we need to eat more veggies.

That's too funny. I'm not a big cucumber person either!
Is it wrong that I'm laughing at you? Last year, we planted 8 "green pepper" plants only to find out that they were ALL jalapeno plants - I still have some in the freezer a year later.
Thank you for confirming that I shouldn't even attempt to plant a garden. I think your experience is obviously a conspiracy by Grocery Stores of America!! :)
I love cucumber!!! I love how you have such a green thumb, xxxooo
LOL!! That's too funny. I can't wait to have a house so I can have a place to garden.
ha, too funny!
i love cucumbers!
had some for breakfast, ha!
poor cucumber plant, you're not showing it any love! lol...
Teehee! That's so funny!
Careful, though. Cucumbers get sun-burned. They tend to need shade because of it. Don't ask how I know this...
lol, too funny!

That is too funny! Maybe you can make pickles with the cucumbers?
Hahah!! Hilarious... and yes, that is his way of telling you that you need more veggies. :)
I'll switch you gardens! I LOVE cucumbers. So much for the cantaloupe! haha
LOL oh man!! I would be disappointed too! I love cantaloupe, cucumber, not so much. At least you are growing something, right? HA
I'm not a huge cucumber fan either. Maybe you'll get enough to can pickles? ha
