A Closet Makeover

First, I want to thank all of you lovely ladies for your comments yesterday on my horrible work post. I never thought I would meet such fantastic people from blogging, and the relationships I share with each of you are so truly special to me. Your support means more to me than you will ever know and I am humbled at the fact that you would take the time to comment on my problems. I can't thank you enough. I just wish some of you would live up here in the freezing Midwest so I could meet you in person! (Well...if I'm wishing for things...I wish I lived in the South!)

I have come to the conclusion that I will make a decision about going back to my job when the time comes (I mean...I haven't even been laid off yet!), but until then, I will try to find another job that I really love. This one blows. What's better than looking for a job while you're at work anyway, right?

Onto more important things...my closet project!

Last weekend I tackled the infamous walk-in closet in our bedroom. Do you girls share closets with your husbands?? I do....I do not heart it. I love to organize and keep things in their place...hubs...not so much. I am definitely in no way saying that the closet mess is his fault...but I would LOVE more room to myself! Alas, not an option right now, so here is the disaster that I started with:

How it ever got this bad, I will never know. I am super embarrassed showing this to you...but it must be done in order for you to get the full effect of the finished product!

What a difference! It makes me so happy to walk in there every morning to it being clean. I AM bothered by the fact that all of the hangers don't match but that is SO me. We got those awesome Huggable Hangers for a wedding present and they just might be my favorite gift.

They make the clothes lay so neatly together...but they are crazy expensive...and we ran out...so I'm stuck using crap ones for a few items.

Oh well, overall, I'd say success!!

My list now includes my "junk" drawer in the kitchen and the bathroom cabinets. Maybe this weekend??

I think you should definitely look for a job you'd love!! I hope that you find one and can tell your company to you know what. Anyway, in happier news, I think your closet clean up looks GREAT. You're inspiring me to tackle my closet. My boyfriend and I share it--and it's not even a walk-in. Yes, I am totally craving some more room, just as you are!

The closet looks great!! Luckily, I don't share a closet with my hubby...because trust me...if I did...it would look WAY worse than your "before" photos!

Well, we did share a closet. And then he deployed so I moved all of his stuff to the guest room and have unfortunately bargain shopped my blues away and the closet is full again. I'm not quite certain where his stuff will go when he gets home...good thing we are buying a house in the fall!!! Instead of having to reintegrate our closets, we'll just pack it all up. Ha! Great avoidance technique, huh? :)

Okay so you don't think I am a total shopping addict, our closet is itty bitty :)

And I do live in the midwest!! Just probably about 10 hours southwest of you. Us Great Plainers like to consider ourselves "midwest" too!

WOW, that is quite the closet! I wish I had a walk-in...it would make my life/organizing so much easier ;)

I feel your pain, I dread organizing closets too. I also like for all my hangers to match and everything to be facing the same direction hanging in the closet...the matching hangers thing can be expensive. Good job, it looks great!

Loving the new reorganized closet! I totally need to reorganize our walk-in...it is a disaster. And I am obsessed with wanting to organize all of my clothes by color...hmmm. Weird? I don't really think so...

And yes, I share my closet with my Mr. and I am also not a fan. His shirts are taking up valuable closet space!!! :)

Mr. Nurse & I will be sharing a closet come May. I am like your husband however and he is like you. I keep telling myself I will be clean. I just hope it works, ha! Good job on the closet!

I am so glad you made that decision. If you dwell on the future you will drive yourself crazy! Deal with it when it comes, until then focus on finding a wonderful job where you will be appreciated! Great job on the closet by the way! I want some Huggable Hangers now!

Love the organized closet. Would you like to come do something about my closet?

Love the closet! I've actually been laughed at by friends because my closet is too organized. My hangers match, but they aren't expensive. Just good old Container Store issue!
