A Cake Order!

So since they put the kibosh on overtime here in the lovely land of awfulness (AKA work)...and I was forced to stay after yesterday to finish up a shipment...you know what that means?? I GET TO LEAVE EARLY TODAY!!

I decided to go home early today instead of tomorrow because I have a cake to bake tonight that is due tomorrow (and can I let you in on a little secret?? I haven't even started yet!) It shouldn't be too bad though. It's just a simple cake for a girl I work with. It's her birthday this weekend. She saw one of my cakes online and basically wanted the exact design. Check it out...

I made this at a cake workshop. It is a mini cake covered in fondant with fondant flowers. There are buttercream accents and the fondant was painted with luster dust.

She didn't want her cake covered in fondant, so I'm doing a buttercream version in a little lighter purple. I also couldn't find the exact flower cut outs...so I hope she doesn't mind those being a little different!

I'll be a busy, busy baker tonight...but I'll try to post pics tomorrow!

It's almost the weekend!!

My husband used to make bank on overtime -- but his company put the kibash on it too! Sad.
That cake looks amazing! I'm hungry already. Can't wait to see pics tomorrow.

YUMMY! Buttercream is the bomb...Thats what Robert and I had at our wedding and if it weren't for the fact that I would have had a major heart attack after eating all that sugar I probably would have eaten the whole darn thing:p Thats a beautiful cake!

I've been thinking about doing a cake workshop because I love the idea of making a beautiful cake - even something as simple as that! Did you like it?
