9 Weeks!

First off, I cannot believe I am doing one of these posts.  It still boggles my mind that I have a LIFE growing inside me.  Our child, the little miracle created by God from my dear husband and me.  It's real.  And it's amazing.

Secondly, I find comparing my child to food so weird.  Like the other week when my baby was the size of a blueberry...I actually ATE a blueberry...and it felt wrong.

How Far Along:  9 weeks!  Our little one is a green olive!

Maternity Clothes:  Not yet.  But my jeans are already starting to get tight.  And I know it's the babes because I've actually lost weight from all the sickness.  I'm thinking about buying another size up in the jeans department before I go out and purchase maternity clothes only because I just recently went down to the size I am in now.  So even gaining a little bit will push me pretty quickly into the next size up.

Sleep:  Sleep has been tricky.  I'm exhausted after work and I've had a tendency to nap on the couch for a few minutes, okay hours, before Matt gets home.  Obviously, this has been screwing up my nighttime sleeping something fierce.  So my new plan is to stay awake as long as possible and then just head to bed earlier.

Food:  Ah food.  I love you and yet I hate you just the same.  My sweet tooth has absolutely disappeared.  Which is completely unheard of and quite frankly is freaking me out.  Currently the baby is loving grapes, Nilla Wafers, Gummy Bears, and pizza.  I know.  Super healthy right?  Don't worry, that's not all I'm eating, but at least I know for sure I'm this baby's mama.

Best Moment of the Week:  The big reveal on the blog :)  Y'all are so precious to me and having your love and support has been just wonderful!

What I'm Looking Forward to:   Telling more of our Cleveland friends about our little bundle and hearing the heartbeat at week 12!  Oh...and hopefully the end of the sickness in a few weeks.

The food comparisons always make me laugh. When you get farther along, and the baby gets bigger, it gets even weirder ... I can see an olive at 9 weeks, but there's one website that compares a 24-weeker to a half-gallon of milk. It's so odd ... I take care of 24-weekers in the NICU all the time, and I would not say that they are the size of a half-gallon of milk. They are long(ish) and skinny and bony and not boxy at all ...
The melons also make me laugh, because a baby is NOT round! (Especially not until the last month... they stay skinny up until about 36-37 weeks...)
Anyway, I'll step off my bandwagon now, and just say that I hope you feel better soon :)

Don't eat an olive!!! Kidding :)

Isn't that so crazy that you have a teensy tiny little PERSON?? I'm so freakin' excited for you. I wish I lived near you because I have like 5,000 ideas for a baby shower for you (don't you like how I just inserted myself into your life?).

I had so much fun meeting you and Matt. Lunch was perfect, and Sprinkles are always awesome. LOVE YOU!

My sweet tooth went away too! It was weird, but I was hoping it wouldn't return for the sake of my waistline. It did. In full force. So no worries, I'm sure you'll be eating frosting out of a can soon!

I found your blog over at Midwest Paradise...I enjoy reading! Congrats on your pregnancy. I can totally relate to the sleepiness of the first few weeks...it goes away in your second trimester. Now junk food cravings on the other hand, it's there to stay!
