I Heart Reese's...

It's finally Friday!

I'm really excited for this holiday weekend. Halloween used to be one of my favorite holidays when I lived at home. I loved passing out all of the candy and getting to see the kids dressed in their outfits. They are just the cutest! Except for the time I gave a little boy a piece of candy and he replied, "Thanks poop." I'm not even kidding..

This will be the third year Matt and I have lived in our house for Halloween. The first year I was crazy excited to be able to pass out my very own candy! And you know what? We got two kids. Two. And they came at like 6:00 p.m. I stood at the door like a sad little puppy, waiting for the kids to come so I could pass out my huge bowl of candy. Instead, I ate the Reese;s Cups myself.

The next year, I was prepared. I only bought one bag just in case. But we got ZERO kids! Ouch! And I ate the candy, again.

So this year, we have taken a different approach. We're going over to one of our friend's houses and helping them pass out candy. They get a ton of kids....and they have a little boy who is celebrating his very first Halloween!! So not only do I get to pass out candy to kids....but I get to see baby Braden in his little outfit and I can't wait!

The rest of our weekend will be fairly low key. My parents are coming up on the 13th of next month...so I have some stuff to do to prepare for their arrival...but that's about it!

Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Halloween!!

We just moved to a new house so I'm a little nervous to see if we're going to get any trick-or-treaters.

I bought 5 bags of candy so we better get SOMEBODY!

oh geez! we've never passed out candy at our house and we bought two huge bags! We better get a lot of kids because that would be horrible if I had to eat all that!

We were the same as you. Our first year we totally stocked up on the candy, excited for all the kids and only got a few. Then we moved to our new apartment, a basement apartment in a country home .. so we definitely get none here. So, last year I went trick or treating with my god kids and this year I was planning to trick or treat with my nieces but you know, that isn't going to happen now. So now I'm not sure what I'll do because I'm going to be all alone!

We don't get any kids at our house and I miss passing out candy. I think we may go over to our friends house also to pass out candy, it is just so cute seeing all the little kiddies in their costumes!! Happy Halloween.

Definitely the way to go. The only people who come to my house are friends, and even they don't come unless they call ahead first. So...yeah. We're going on a ghost tour instead.

Ah! That's kind of like how our house is. When we lived in a rental home, we didn't get that many trick or treaters because it was in an older neighborhood, not a lot of kids and not a lot of streetlights (you know, rule 101 of Halloween, must have good lighting or the parentals don't let the kids go there). So, we moved almsot 2 years ago and we moved into a neighborhood with kids--although, our street itself is all retirees--I was sooooo excited last year to have trick or treaters--yeah, we had like 5. So sad!!! I haven't even bought candy yet. Ha!

i'm thankful we live in the middle of a city where no trick-or-treating goes on, or else i'd eat every last bit of the candy.

halloween candy is evil!! :)

Yes, I LOVE Reeses! I think the lesson to be learned here is to always buy candy for Halloween that is YOUR favorite ;)

This is our 3rd year too- we have not gotten any kids either. But I kept buying candy too. This year we are going to the in-laws. They always get kids. Enjoy.

Given that I have always lived in a walk-up apartment, and not in an actual building--i have never had trick or treaters. but...this year there is a rumor that the building we now live in does get them. i have my fingers crossed. happy friday!

We never get trick or treaters either! I stopped buying candy for the sake of my waistline....this year I could resist the Reese's Lover mix though. Ummm...can you say heaven!

Last year was our first year in this apartment...and we bought two big bags of candy! We got a grand total of 2 trick-or-treaters...and one of them was a baby. Fail!

I am SO buying candy again this year, though. Just in case. :)
