I'm a Reader

Last night, I finished The Reader. Has anyone else read this book? Hm.

I wanted to read the book before I saw the movie...it's a new thing I'm trying out. I've never been a huge reader, but the Twilight Series turned me around, so now I'm on the lookout for good books! I've gotta tell you though, this one, I was not a huge fan. I'm not going to give anything away (e-mail me if you want to chat!) but I just couldn't get over the huge age difference and the abrupt ending. I'm still intrigued enough to Netflix the movie...but I'm in no rush.

So, my fellow book worms, what are you currently reading?? What are your very favorite books and what is on your must read list?? I'm dying to know!

At the present time, I am searching for:

What do you think about these books?? Any others I should pick up??

I have to give a shout out to Shaina from Post Smith for posting about a lot of these a little while ago! Although I am not the speed reader she is (um, she finished Gone With the Wind in a weekend people!) I think they will be fabulous reads and I can't wait to get started! Thanks friend!

Great suggestions! I just finished reading the Percy Jackson Books by Rick Riordan (yes, they are young adult fiction based on Greek Mythology, but I don't care that I'm 25 and reading books meant for 13 year olds. They're fab.)

I haven't read The Reader or any other books on your list. I'm reading The Friday Night Knitting Club right now.. it took me some time to get into it but it is really good now. Have you read the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich? Or The Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella? They are all awesome! I love light-hearted reads so you may not like those types of books! Oh and the Janet Evanovich books have a lot of cuss words but I just look past them, lol.

I loved Time Travelers Wife. There are so many good books out there! If you liked Twilight, the Sookie Stackhouse series is Twilight for adults...mindless but fun.

I love reading but am not a speed reader, I have been reading Wally Lamb's "The Hour I First Believed" since Christmas! Okay people - before you start throwing rocks at me, its like 800 pages and I have been busy! He is a great author, I also recommend his books "I Know This Much Is True" and "She's Come Undone". Oh, and any book by Jodi Picoult is a must read, especially "Change of Heart" and "My sister's Keeper" which is due to be released as a movie in June.

I loved The Memory Keeper's Daughter. I couldn't get into Three Cups of Tea, but if you are wanting to read it and don't have it, I'll mail you my copy!
Email me at usc_emily@hotmail.com with your address is you want that book. It's basically brand new because I didn't open it but a few times.

Gosh, I feel like I've posted about these books on SO many people's blogs.. but Oh my gosh.. Read The Middle Place. I posted about it a few weeks ago and it's wonderful and fabulous and I won't lie, I cried a little just reading the Prologue.. In the car dealership. Um, I just finished "The Hour I First Believed" by Wally Lamb- It's fiction but surrounds the high school shootings at Columbine. It's unexpected.. it's captivating. Certainly not a "beach read" but good. I've just started Jen Lancaster's Pretty in Plaid, I've been in the mood for a little mindless, witty chick-lit and I finished her Bitter is the New Black last month.. It's laugh out loud funny.. i love it.. Can hardly put it down. Also another must read? Jodi Piccoult's Handle With Care. Loooooved it.. Wow, sorry for the long post.. you can tell, i love my books! Haha! Hope this helps!

I wasn't a fan of the Reader either! I haven't seen the movie yet though...
The Memory Keeper's Daughter is good. A few other AMAZING books: The Glass Castle, Redeeming Love, and Come Back - My ultimate FAVORITES!!!

i am a huge reader but for some reason i am really into the "chick-lit" genre. I like books such as confessions of a shopaholic, the devil wears prada (my current read), the nanny diaries, bridget jones diary, man-eater, in her shoes, and good in bed.
i just find the stories and hilarity of these fiction women's lives so fin to read.

I've also decided to give reading a shot. The Twilight series definitely sold me... of course then I criticized everything about the movie! lol The above books look good, make sure to give reviews!

I haven't read any of those books...yet. I love reading though and will definitely add them to my list. I am a huge fan of Twilight, and I also like to read books before watching the movies. I am about to read, Confessions of a Shopaholic.

I am ALWAYS looking for new book suggestions. I saw The Reader and thought it was okay, but probably wouldn't follow it up with the book. Right now I am in the middle of The Southern Vampire Series...just getting ready to start the third one today.
