Glorious June

It's June!!

June is one of my very favorite months of the year. Summer weather is finally here (or almost!), wedding season is beginning, and...

It's my birthday month! Today officially starts my birthday week! And yes, I celebrate my birthday for a week...sue me.

Since I get a whole week...I decided that the weekend could be Matt's. We did whatever he wanted to do all weekend. You know what we did?? A whole lotta nothin'...and it was glorious!

We slept in until after 9:00 am on Saturday (which is very unlike us). I went to the gym to get a workout in and then proceeded to take...oh...about a 3 hour nap on the couch. I woke up to Matt playing Grand Theft Auto 4 in the bedroom, which I'm pretty sure he played 20 hours of over the course of Saturday and Sunday...and no...I am not kidding. I laid in bed 1/2 reading, 1/2 watching him kill "baddies" for the rest of the night. For some reason, we could not get ourselves to sleep, and we stayed up talking and giggling like little kids for what seemed like hours. It had been forever since I had seen midnight come and go...and I knew getting up for church in the morning was going to be a problem!

The alarm went off at 6:30 am and Matt didn't even move. He looked so sleepy. I tried to wake him up a few times...and I finally just asked him if he wanted to get up or sleep some more on "his day." He mumbled, "Maybe we could sleep a little more." So that's exactly what we did. I started our dinner in the crock pot, went to the gym, and did some more reading...whilst Matt...you guessed it...played his video games. We ended the day with a trip to go get ice cream (fat free sorbet for me!) which was simply lovely.

So a weekend that probably sounds incredibly boring...just happens to be one with which I am absolutely in love.

Just one week!?!? I celebrated my last birthday for an entire month. LOL There were spa pedicures, numerous nights out with friend, dinners at some of my favorite restaurants, and lots of gifts (for me, as well as from me).
