Valentine's Day Update!

So Matt and I had decided to not really do gifts this year for Valentine's Day. I'm usually a super big planner when it comes to the holidays...but I didn't really think about it until about two weeks ago...and then I felt rushed! I think Thanksgiving and Christmas wore me out! We did exchange cards...which I absolutely love doing. I especially love the writing inside that Matt always does. It means so much to me that he actually takes the time to write something about how he feels about me. Hey...that's about as romantic as my man gets :)

After my Zumba class, we did our usual grocery shopping routine...Walmart, Costco, Heinens...it's a huge ordeal for us to go grocery shopping. Anyway....we got some crab legs, lobster, and potatoes at the store and whipped them up for dinner. Matt took all of the meat out of the legs before we sat down so we wouldn't have to do that (not to mention that I don't know how!).

We set the table all nice, had candles burning and the fire going, and loves songs playing in the background. It was really just relaxing and wonderful. I even got him to do a little dancing in the living room by the fire. It's was super sweet.

Today we are going to a Nascar party for Daytona. I'm not what you would call a race fan, but my dad used to be obsessed....and I lived in Speedway, IN..racing capital of the world...for practically my whole life so I'm pretty well versed when it comes to the sport. I made these cupcakes last night to take with us. They are Cherry Limeade cupcakes based off the drink from Sonic! It's Matt's favorite so I thought I'd give it a try. The icing is so good...there aren't even words....

I got the recipe from Annie's Eats. Her blog is really cute! This is the first recipe I have made from her..and it will definitely not be the last.

I'm also making some of Bakerella's Red Velvet Cake Balls with the chocolate in colors of yellow and blue for Jimmy Johnson. Our host for the Daytona party is a huge fan...so I thought I would surprise her with these. I will post pictures soon!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
